Hi! Byleth lends himself to comforting others quite well so I'm down for something with that angle!

Popp and Angeal have shared some light slice of life downtime, want to do some horror??

Everyone loves showing off their blorbo's traumatic backstories and Popp hasn't seen tragic mad science up close at his canon point so I'm game to hit him with a dose of that and then yell about it to Angeal in person, possibly while on a patrol. It's bad timing ICly but Popp does not always make good choices.

Maybe he will even realize that Angeal's name isn't Annie?

Or to spare Angeal's dignity from being IDslurped he could get some of Popp's memories showing up in his nightmares instead! I gather child soldiers are something of a hot button for him and while Popp is not like, formally in the army, he goes into battles and gets the absolute stuffing beat out of him every single story arc.

They have also both died and had a miraculous second chance so that could be really fun to talk about in some capacity!

What sounds the most fun, or the most upsetting? The two things are very similar in DWRP...

About: hi hello my name is chai and I'm a pretty average guy. I'm also one of your main moderators! I helped make this game pretty and iron out Owen's ideas in to event format, but he's the dragon guru.

other than rp, my hobbies mainly include rn watercoloring/art, journaling, embroidery/cross-stitch, & Hades II. I'm on PST and work from 7am-4pm in that time zone but also WFH so I tend to be pretty available!!

Character: Ardyn Izunia
Canon: FFXV
Canon Point: The ten year gap in-between Chapter 13 & 14
Age: 2033, looks older than 30s though because of Canon Reasons and also acts like a grandpa
Dragon Bond: Jhank Troth, a silver metallic dragon who is a stupid narc in his head that makes Ardyn feel bad about his shitty choices. THANKS, HE HATES IT. They're like an old married couple mentally who bicker about what's 'right' a lot of the time.

About Your Blorbo: Ardyn is, on a surface level, very theatrical and seemingly unbothered by a lot. The man doesn't appear to take much seriously and makes jokes or pokes fun at even dire circumstances. He can come across as creepy, suggestive but also civil, composed, and calm even in the face of hostility.

This is all just thinly veiled attempts to provoke others though since he's basically got some literal demonic sludge disease in his body that tells him to be an asshole. He also is just kind of an asshole sometimes without it needing to influence him, but still! He's a man who believes revenge is a dish best served cold over millennia but also wants an end to his exhausting, miserable existence once he gets it.

Game/Event Plan(s): Finally, some excitement.

↬ Ardyn will be poking his nose around the crash despite being told not to. He also might try and stir up some trouble and sow seeds of anxiety among locals and offworlders alike because why not!

↬ Once they're told what these things are, he'll volunteer for patrolling and keeping people safe. Like a good man! See! He's doing the right thing! (In reality, he wants to capture one of these little freaks and see what they're all about. This will not go well for him, but damn if he isn't going to try.)

↬ Due to his unique circumstances, one of the Intellect Devourers will overload and explode because of him having too many memory. This will cause one of those psconic waves and be the only chance people have to get any of his actual memories. I have ones I want to explore with him, but figure we can hash them out on a case-by-case basis rather than me just tl;dring about them here.

↬ After the explosion, his memory timeline is going to be a bit scrambled and he'll revert back to his DLC self in mannerisms and attitude for a little bit. He will hate this once he remembers everything again, but it might be a fun opportunity for cast or CR to see the man beneath the layers of fucked up monster.

Interested In: Ardyn is a villainous sort so that means he can be manipulative, cold, and calculating when trying to get what he wants. Obviously, the long-term is he gets better about this and isn't such a dick eventually.

Personally, I also like exploring the depths of depravity he can reach and some of the darker, more fucked up parts of him. I know that isn't for everyone though so either lmk or I'll check in if things start veering a potentially Bad Direction.

Anything else? Ardyn checking in with the FFXV cast now and again be like:

I think they'd get on just fine! Elidibus as he is now is friendly by nature, and would welcome another protective soul. It's an honorable thing to be, usually, and he sees that.

You know, with his penchant for heroes and all.

Character: Rosie
Canon: Original
Canon Point: Ninth Life, which is basically just a point she thinks she died
Age: 333, but looks about mid-20s physically
Dragon Bond: Rosie has Demora Luthric, a green dragon, in her brain! She was a therapist for veterans and loved being out in nature. Considering Rosie needs both of those things, this will hopefully be good for her!

About Your Blorbo (cw: mentions of sex work): If you combine the songs Blank Space by Taylor Swift and Fergalicious by Fergie, you get Rosie as a person. She's a hypersexual nightmare dressed as a daydream. She had spent her life the last few years before here basically being the person - specifically rich older men who want to fuck her - most desired in the moment. As a result, she doesn't really like to let people get to know the real her... because she also thinks the real her is pretty ugly, honestly.

While quite emotionally driven, she is also emotionally dysregulated. She tends to be easily jealous, petty, and horribly insecure... But! She also loves music, cares deeply about those she considers friends, and truly just wants a quiet simple life with lots of dogs even if she fights against that and makes bad choices.

Game/Event Plan(s): Haha wow this sucks man.

❥ Once told what the crash was about and what's going on, Rosie will be doing her best to stay out of harm's way. The problem with that: she sucks at it! Since she doesn't have many self-preservation instincts to speak of, she won't be boarding up her house or really changing her routines much. Oops.

❥ Naturally, this means she's gonna' get got. I don't mind playing this out with someone either to start or in medias rest with her needing a dramatic rescue but, look, point is: she's gonna get her memories siphoned up with a tentacly straw.

❥ The memories people can get from Rosie are a good range and just lmk if yours is interested in learning more about her whether it be her time in the ring, her work before arriving here she's mentioned, her awful ex-boyfriend/boss, or more specific things like how she got her scars. I'll warn people appropriately for anything though since Rosie is a character that comes with a lot for various things.

❥ I'm also totally open to her getting memories from Amani people of her time there! Whether just generally or CR notes you'd want to hit (like James mentioned the convo with Rosie and Angeal about being friends without sex, etc.) and develop further here without her having to get ALL of them back/CRAU stuff.

Interested In: Long-term, I want her to find value in herself outside of sex & feeling like she needs to appeal to / be liked by everyone she comes across. She's struggling with body image still though and, like, connection with others in a more meaningful way so also wanting to focus on deepening some of the CR she does have.

More immediately, she did get a business title for her tavern (which the name I'm still noodling on, so suggestions welcome!) but that'll be announced uhhhhh after. All this fuckery passes. Probably early March!

Canon Point: After the last episode / the ceremonial duel

Dragon Bond: A copper dragon who was not only lonely, but loved the supernatural and ghost hunting.

About Your Blorbo: Ryou is a very eccentric but sweet guy who loves the supernatural, magic, and studies the occult. He was essentially possessed by Card Game Satan through the Millennium Ring for about half his life. He's fine, definitely. Definitely doesn't have loneliness and abandonment issues from that. Also he is a bit of a natural with magic, if his bond with the Ring and the fact that he could directly interfere with Card Game Satan and blow his own soul up to stop him. He got better.

Game/Event Plan(s): I want Ryou to really find himself and his place in the world. He sees this as a second chance, and is already happily domestic with Kaiba (though the relationship is still very new). He wants to really get involved with others and move his study of magic forward. He is definitely going to try to help with The Situation, whether investigating alone or trying to give first aid. Maybe he learns healing magic during this period?

Interested In: Growing his bonds with other magicians, and possibly learning a magic system outside the stuff he's familiar with! Also just bonding and having normal friendships that don't have to do with evil rings that tried to use him to destroy the world.

Anything else? I am so sorry in advance with his weirdness. He's just a little guy.

I want these two to really learn to trust and rely on each other beyond what they already do.

And memory shariiiing, yes! He can see some form of his shenanegans with Yami Bakura -- probably when he got his chest scars.

He doesn't have much of a choice, does he? 'Tis clear Elidibus is close to his breaking point, and Emet-Selch would be lying if he said he wasn't (more than) a little worried for him.

(Also he's sorry for getting his brain munched. This was not part of the plan.)

Yes hiiii, teacher / student shenanegans. Ryou will definitely be running around and trying to help in any way he can.

As far as memory sharing? Probably the time he interrupted Yami Bakura's shadow game, got his hand impaled, and then blew up his own soul to save his friends. He's a protective boy ;;;;

Patrolling would be fun! Provided she doesn't mind that the prickly mage will also become a prickly dragon. He'll likely remember her from Ardyn's conjuration classes.

As for the jazz music... they will come up with something. Even if he and Elidibus have to perform it themselves.

Hi yes, Ryou would like to get to know this lady.

As a dude with a literal fanclub in his world, he's used to getting a ton of attention and generally hates it. He can drag her into his weird hobbies or she can drag him into hers.

Ardyn has literal demon sludge and Ryou was possessed by Card Game Satan. Clearly these two need to interact more.

~Magic buds~ I think Popp should teach him some Dragon Quest spells and Ryou can teach him some nerd games.

Oh shit he's got scars? It has been some time since I have read Yugioh, got a chapter and/or episode number I should look up to make it nice and vivid?

These two have a good few key points in common and keep not talking about it because part of what they have in common is huge self worth issues under a bold front!

I think some scar stories or the awful ex would be a good point to crack open this can of emotional worms.

⁂ PLOT WITH ME
Character: Ignis Scientia
Canon: Final Fantasy XV
Canon Point: Pre-Game
Age: 18 (19 this month!)
Dragon Bond: Sveargith was a green dragon who used to run a rather successful tavern, and was so friendly that sometimes you never realized he was actually a really secretive person! (That is to say: it's almost guaranteed that he knew more about you than you did about him, especially if you were up at the bar.)

Ignis's most visible draconic changes have been fortunately drawn out, but with the winter what it is, he's usually seen wearing a thick fur coat, so the most people have seen lately would be his horns and some of his tail.... and those big raptor feet of his. When he gains full dragon form, he'll look a rather lot like Sveargith. Not an exact image, but close enough that some may make connections!

About Your Blorbo: Ignis is the retainer of Prince Noctis Caelum.... and also a good few years behind him now, due to time shenanigans. Skilled in a wide variety of things, from cooking to clothes mending to assassinations, he generally comes off as a calm nerd with just a bit of sass beneath. However, some of his youth is still clinging to him just a little bit. He'll probably grow up just a little bit come his birthday.

Game/Event Plan(s):
1. The best defense is a good offense, so Ignis will definitely be out on patrol to at least some degree. He won't be doing it as much as some others, but he does want to help make Town safer sooner than later. If anyone wants a more level headed and intelligent partner, he's a good choice!

2. Due to his fairly early canon point (he hasn't even experienced a fraction of the trauma in XV yet!), Ignis probably won't be too interesting to get any memories of - unless you'd like to see some fun Weird Child memories and bonding with his uncle. So generally speaking, Ignis won't be getting attacked in that way unless someone really has an interest. However, I am open to him getting other people's memories!

Interested In: impatiently holds my hands out to everyone

I am all for people seeing the fucked up status of Final Fantasy VII!

now it's just up for grabs on what terrible science backstory thing you'd like Popp to see

- angeal getting the revelation from genesis that he's actually a messed up science baby, including the revelation that he can pull wings out of his back! (which could be noticeable bc of how he's hiding wings right now)

- angeal getting to deal with genesis's rapid deterioration as a product of being a 'failed' science experiment

- did you know that angeal can infect other creatures with his DNA and put them under his control? this memory could show it!

That is so precious he would treasure and hoard it like the greedy dragon he is ;-;

(And eventually work on a way to give back, he's planning to become a smith)

*yes*. Seto would go out after Ryou to find him after a little worrying...he knows judo and isn't afraid to use his budding claws, but he's still weak compared to the full blown dragons.

But that won't stop him from trying.

Would def. be open to a memory as new CR! He wants to know what this guy's about.

Oh boy! So many delightful(?) options!

The revelation/wings sounds like it's got the most legs because Popp's going to think of that every time he sees Angeal going around without them, he can put two and two together and he'd probably end up bugging him about it!

It would be interesting for Angeal to talk about it with someone who isn't knee deep in science/monster horrors already (beyond the default of everyone here being dragonized).

Oh, so many possibilities!

- Popp's culmination of this whole 30 episode character arc where he does a heartfelt self-sacrifice for the sake of his friends (it's something I would put a cw: suicide for in the actual thread header for these days but Popp would not think of it that way because he is from a 90s shounen manga, you know how it is with 90s shounen) (trivia time! I looked it up and our canons have four months of overlap in WSJ)

- Kaiba's currently intimidated by the power difference so a memory highlighting Popp's less competent traits could break that down some. He's the best friend comic relief and it is his very important job to fuck up so the rest of the cast can look cooler, or to bravely stand up to an opponent who outclasses him so he can get rescued. Want to see him lose a fight? Chicken out of a love confession? Fuck up teleporting repeatedly? Cry helplessly as his teacher dies in front of him? (as a bonus, Master Avan is also here but from the prequel, he is also a teenager) Have a really unconstructive nervous breakdown over his bestie getting amnesia?
