This OOC post will be for all your introductory and/or plotting needs! For newcomers, we want to give a space to outline their initial thoughts and plans to get started strong. For established players, feel free to make your event and other plans for the future here!

As a few quick notes:

⁂ The Brain Boggling event log is up in its entirety! Use this post to plot for it, but feel free to top-level or tag into the actual event at your leisure.
⁂ We want to encourage people to continue to use the quest board to get themselves established in the community and building reputation if they want something to do!
⁂ Character claims are always open until we hit the player cap! So, please keep checking back on this post for new players or characters that might be added to ensure everyone receives a warm welcome!

Most of all, we want people to have fun and let us know if your character gets up to anything good, bad, or whatever! All of it will influence the world around them and potentially have benefits or consequences.

About: hi hello my name is chai and I'm a pretty average guy. I'm also one of your main moderators! I helped make this game pretty and iron out Owen's ideas in to event format, but he's the dragon guru.

other than rp, my hobbies mainly include rn watercoloring/art, journaling, embroidery/cross-stitch, & Hades II. I'm on PST and work from 7am-4pm in that time zone but also WFH so I tend to be pretty available!!

Character: Ardyn Izunia
Canon: FFXV
Canon Point: The ten year gap in-between Chapter 13 & 14
Age: 2033, looks older than 30s though because of Canon Reasons and also acts like a grandpa
Dragon Bond: Jhank Troth, a silver metallic dragon who is a stupid narc in his head that makes Ardyn feel bad about his shitty choices. THANKS, HE HATES IT. They're like an old married couple mentally who bicker about what's 'right' a lot of the time.

About Your Blorbo: Ardyn is, on a surface level, very theatrical and seemingly unbothered by a lot. The man doesn't appear to take much seriously and makes jokes or pokes fun at even dire circumstances. He can come across as creepy, suggestive but also civil, composed, and calm even in the face of hostility.

This is all just thinly veiled attempts to provoke others though since he's basically got some literal demonic sludge disease in his body that tells him to be an asshole. He also is just kind of an asshole sometimes without it needing to influence him, but still! He's a man who believes revenge is a dish best served cold over millennia but also wants an end to his exhausting, miserable existence once he gets it.

Game/Event Plan(s): Finally, some excitement.

↬ Ardyn will be poking his nose around the crash despite being told not to. He also might try and stir up some trouble and sow seeds of anxiety among locals and offworlders alike because why not!

↬ Once they're told what these things are, he'll volunteer for patrolling and keeping people safe. Like a good man! See! He's doing the right thing! (In reality, he wants to capture one of these little freaks and see what they're all about. This will not go well for him, but damn if he isn't going to try.)

↬ Due to his unique circumstances, one of the Intellect Devourers will overload and explode because of him having too many memory. This will cause one of those psconic waves and be the only chance people have to get any of his actual memories. I have ones I want to explore with him, but figure we can hash them out on a case-by-case basis rather than me just tl;dring about them here.

↬ After the explosion, his memory timeline is going to be a bit scrambled and he'll revert back to his DLC self in mannerisms and attitude for a little bit. He will hate this once he remembers everything again, but it might be a fun opportunity for cast or CR to see the man beneath the layers of fucked up monster.

Interested In: Ardyn is a villainous sort so that means he can be manipulative, cold, and calculating when trying to get what he wants. Obviously, the long-term is he gets better about this and isn't such a dick eventually.

Personally, I also like exploring the depths of depravity he can reach and some of the darker, more fucked up parts of him. I know that isn't for everyone though so either lmk or I'll check in if things start veering a potentially Bad Direction.

Absolutely!! My YGO knowledge is also rusty but I have seen mention of Bakura is into the occult, which means Ardyn will be charmed by that too

I absolutely need Regis to meet pre-FFXV!Ardyn because it would radically change his opinion of the man and make him reconsider his commitment to the Astrals even more.

This would completely crush him. Regis would have no idea what to do if he found out the complete truth about Ardyn. He hasn't quite had the "talk" with others regarding Ardyn yet, though they have skirt around the issue before.

Ohoho, yes!! That would be fun. Regis learning Ardyn wasn't a horrible man once, but became one due to his circumstances and tampering by the gods...

Turns out they fucked him over just as much as anyone else!!

The idea of Regis discovering the truth through Ardyn's memories amuses me greatly. Regis' faith in the Six had already begun to wane as a result of Cor telling him the truth about what happened after his death, but this solidifies it.

Ardyn might find Regis's guilt over the truth about his royal lineage amusing. He is the 113th great grandson of the ultimate betrayer.

Character: Rosie
Canon: Original
Canon Point: Ninth Life, which is basically just a point she thinks she died
Age: 333, but looks about mid-20s physically
Dragon Bond: Rosie has Demora Luthric, a green dragon, in her brain! She was a therapist for veterans and loved being out in nature. Considering Rosie needs both of those things, this will hopefully be good for her!

About Your Blorbo (cw: mentions of sex work): If you combine the songs Blank Space by Taylor Swift and Fergalicious by Fergie, you get Rosie as a person. She's a hypersexual nightmare dressed as a daydream. She had spent her life the last few years before here basically being the person - specifically rich older men who want to fuck her - most desired in the moment. As a result, she doesn't really like to let people get to know the real her... because she also thinks the real her is pretty ugly, honestly.

While quite emotionally driven, she is also emotionally dysregulated. She tends to be easily jealous, petty, and horribly insecure... But! She also loves music, cares deeply about those she considers friends, and truly just wants a quiet simple life with lots of dogs even if she fights against that and makes bad choices.

Game/Event Plan(s): Haha wow this sucks man.

❥ Once told what the crash was about and what's going on, Rosie will be doing her best to stay out of harm's way. The problem with that: she sucks at it! Since she doesn't have many self-preservation instincts to speak of, she won't be boarding up her house or really changing her routines much. Oops.

❥ Naturally, this means she's gonna' get got. I don't mind playing this out with someone either to start or in medias rest with her needing a dramatic rescue but, look, point is: she's gonna get her memories siphoned up with a tentacly straw.

❥ The memories people can get from Rosie are a good range and just lmk if yours is interested in learning more about her whether it be her time in the ring, her work before arriving here she's mentioned, her awful ex-boyfriend/boss, or more specific things like how she got her scars. I'll warn people appropriately for anything though since Rosie is a character that comes with a lot for various things.

❥ I'm also totally open to her getting memories from Amani people of her time there! Whether just generally or CR notes you'd want to hit (like James mentioned the convo with Rosie and Angeal about being friends without sex, etc.) and develop further here without her having to get ALL of them back/CRAU stuff.

Interested In: Long-term, I want her to find value in herself outside of sex & feeling like she needs to appeal to / be liked by everyone she comes across. She's struggling with body image still though and, like, connection with others in a more meaningful way so also wanting to focus on deepening some of the CR she does have.

More immediately, she did get a business title for her tavern (which the name I'm still noodling on, so suggestions welcome!) but that'll be announced uhhhhh after. All this fuckery passes. Probably early March!

These two have a good few key points in common and keep not talking about it because part of what they have in common is huge self worth issues under a bold front!

I think some scar stories or the awful ex would be a good point to crack open this can of emotional worms.

HAHA yeah the struggle with playing an avoidant lady like Rosie... but!!

the scars are pretty heavy/graphic if you're up for that. if not, her awful ex is a good springboard of seeing where some of her insecurities about looks especially come from

I'm torn (much like Rosie's skin??)! On one hand I love nasty scars, on the other hand I think the ex would be really satisfyingly unpleasant to dig into for Popp in particular and make him look at some of the things he says about women.

Canon: Fire Emblem: Three Houses (pre-timeskip)
Canon Point:
Age: 17, a baby boy!
Dragon Bond: Leuge Rex! A gold dragon who became a teacher rather than any kind of grand historical figure or lived up to his kind's reputation as wanting fame/fortune.

About Your Blorbo: Have you ever wondered what a golden retriever personified is like? Look no further than Dimitri Blaiddyd! Despite a traumatizing early life, he still has so much capacity for near unconditional love in his heart for those he holds close. It eventually ends up breaking him but, hey, he's not there...! He's fine. Don't worry about the lingering darkness behind his eyes, the fact he can kill without a moment's hesitation if necessary, and has super strength he can't always control.

Just call him a good boy and watch his metaphorical tail wag. Precious.

Game/Event Plan(s): Dimitri is newer so he doesn't have dragon qualities on his side... But! He does have training as a soldier so, you know, he's not going to be incapable.

♔ Dimitri will be helping with patrols and keeping people safe. If you want to be his danger buddy, let me know!
♔ Eventually, he will get caught. The main memories that I have in mind though are The Tragedy of Duscar where he lost family but met Dedue, other various moments of childhood like training in the wilds or ice skating with his family, and his relationship with Byleth at various points.
♔ He will likely end up killing an Intellect Devourer at some point and it'd be a good opportunity to see how he can be, uh, a little intense when it comes to murdering things that threaten his or his friend's safety. Don't mind him, it's the war child trauma. :']
♔ Dimitri will be getting some of his future memories too from folks and like my others I'm fine w/him learning things about himself either from Amani or just canon!
♔ I'm definitely here for some hurt/comfort though and the fallout of things!

Interested In: Dimitri is a teen boy who doesn't really... know how to be a teen boy! He's very serious and uptight, but means the best. I'd like him to know more people his own age and get to live a little instead of having the constant weight of being a future king and responsibility of all that on his shoulders.

I gleefully volunteer Avan for fellow teen friendship. His two closest people back home at this point are a princess and a guy with super strength, so he is well-equipped.

Getting a memory from someone you haven't met before could be an interesting way to get a first impression! Is there one of Dimitri's that you think would be especially good for that? What would be most interesting to Avan would be one with Byleth since he knows that his own future self is a teacher but he isn't clear on why he chose that career path, but then that's not likely to give a strong impression on Dimitri, is it?

Alternatively Dimitri get one of Avan's?

also, memories relating to Byleth can give insight into Dimitri too! his surprise at Byleth being their teacher, their good relationship that forms, etc. he's a good student, mostly, so it might be cute to see the ways Avan could also potentially influence lives as a teacher himself?
