Hello and welcome to Children of Bahamut!

This OOC post will be for all your introductory and/or plotting needs! For newcomers, we want to give a space to outline their initial thoughts and plans to get started strong. For established players, feel free to make your event and other plans for the future here!

You can use the form below! If you play more than one character, you're free to make a top-level for just your relevant player information and comment beneath with each respective character.

As a few quick notes:

⁂ The Brain Boggling event log is up in its entirety! Use this post to plot for it, but feel free to top-level or tag into the actual event at your leisure.
⁂ We want to encourage people to continue to use the quest board to get themselves established in the community and building reputation if they want something to do!
⁂ Character claims are always open until we hit the player cap! So, please keep checking back on this post for new players or characters that might be added to ensure everyone receives a warm welcome!

Most of all, we want people to have fun and let us know if your character gets up to anything good, bad, or whatever! All of it will influence the world around them and potentially have benefits or consequences.

About: My tagging speed has been more variable than I would like, but I'm generally aware of the ol' inbox. Sometimes when I get a tag I really like I am overcome by how good it is and think about it a lot and forget to actually reply. And sometimes I am just obsessed with a video game or a craft project or something I am reading.

Character: Popp
Canon: Adventure of Dai
Canon Point: Between episodes 30 and 31
Dragon Bond: Senrik Tolkur, green dragon.
Chatty noodle of a fellow who wandered around, talking himself into and out of trouble.

About Your Blorbo: Popp is extremely dramatic and sensitive and makes up for his backstory as a whiny coward by putting himself in danger constantly. He cares a lot about people whether they have a steadily affectionate CR going on or if they argue constantly.

Game/Event Plan(s):

1. I want him to see some sad backstories so he can cry at them. I haven't used my dedicated ugly crying icon enough!

2. Oh boy oh boy memory share, Popp has some juicy trauma and also has had some legitimately cool things that he has done (there is overlap). I want his friends to see the shit he puts up with. I want new/newish CR to get a really intense first impression. He has watched his beloved mentor die in front of him, he's personally died himself in the exact same way, he's fought multiple dragons at once and won, he's worked retail...

3. He also only really puts his whole heart into a friendship after facing dire peril together so HERE WE GO!!

Interested In: He knows a lot of mature adults who are encouraging him to grow as a person so I especially want him to hang out with more teenagers and people who will have petty arguments with him.

Anything else? The majesty of his full dragon form is upon us yes the horn bow is required no he will not be accepting criticism about it

I really want to have Elidibus protect Popp somehow, whether that's by defending him from/killing one or rescuing him from a Devourer.

Oh hell yes, blow one up to get it off of him and we can get some ~memory soup~ going!

Both of Popp's canon mentor figures got extremely incapacitated while protecting him so he'll have a bunch of Feelings about that and be extra clingy for a bit.

Popp in the middle of PTSD flashbacks of how he lost his other mentors but this time Elidibus is alive, trying to deal with whatever he just got blasted with, and tries to get them BOTH out of there.

They are BOTH going to be clingy tbh, Elidibus is really not here for this nonsense.

Popp's gonna cry on him. I feel like there's a good chance of this happening in general but definitely in this specific instance.

And memory shariiiing, yes! He can see some form of his shenanegans with Yami Bakura -- probably when he got his chest scars.

Oh shit he's got scars? It has been some time since I have read Yugioh, got a chapter and/or episode number I should look up to make it nice and vivid?

Would def. be open to a memory as new CR! He wants to know what this guy's about.

Oh, so many possibilities!

- Popp's culmination of this whole 30 episode character arc where he does a heartfelt self-sacrifice for the sake of his friends (it's something I would put a cw: suicide for in the actual thread header for these days but Popp would not think of it that way because he is from a 90s shounen manga, you know how it is with 90s shounen) (trivia time! I looked it up and our canons have four months of overlap in WSJ)

- Kaiba's currently intimidated by the power difference so a memory highlighting Popp's less competent traits could break that down some. He's the best friend comic relief and it is his very important job to fuck up so the rest of the cast can look cooler, or to bravely stand up to an opponent who outclasses him so he can get rescued. Want to see him lose a fight? Chicken out of a love confession? Fuck up teleporting repeatedly? Cry helplessly as his teacher dies in front of him? (as a bonus, Master Avan is also here but from the prequel, he is also a teenager) Have a really unconstructive nervous breakdown over his bestie getting amnesia?
