This OOC post will be for all your introductory and/or plotting needs! For newcomers, we want to give a space to outline their initial thoughts and plans to get started strong. For established players, feel free to make your event and other plans for the future here!

Dragon Bond: Fintir Nannan a (blue-eyed) white dragon and proud warrior woman. She Befriended people through the pride and joy of combat, which is something Kaiba will be dragged into learning how to do :P (But he has Ryou as an influence there...)

About Your Blorbo: Kaiba was the CEO of a gaming company and really fixated on being The Best at card games. 'I'm not here to make friends' was his motto in life. He also really loved a very specific dragon. Now he's becoming one, and going to be forced how to make friends.

Game/Event Plan(s): Kaiba is calming down a little under the influence of his roommate/boyfriend. He hasn't been too worried about the transformation so far, and especially as this event starts he'll be aggravated that he isn't strong enough to fight yet. Right now he's mostly doing handyman tasks to contribute, and I'd like to see him keep accidentally bonding :P

Event-specific plans: Once he sees what kind of madness is going on, he'll wisely stay out of the way. I'm not opposed to having him attacked, but I haven't decided yet. He has a few memories that can either present him as a sad boy or a menace.

Interested In: Kaiba definitely needs to find some games to play or something. Saving up bond points for cards eventually, but a basic local game would work too...it's how Fintir will be subtly urging him to bond with others. And as his transformation progresses he'll have a lot more questions for the people who are further along. Someone who can tolerate that would be great. I especially love found family and would love to build to that someday :3

As far as quests, for a beginner dragonling something like Trash or Treasure would probably be good for him to go with a stronger partner. He knows judo and is skilled with throwing weapons, but he's still Squishy.

About Your Blorbo: Popp is extremely dramatic and sensitive and makes up for his backstory as a whiny coward by putting himself in danger constantly. He cares a lot about people whether they have a steadily affectionate CR going on or if they argue constantly.

Game/Event Plan(s):

1. I want him to see some sad backstories so he can cry at them. I haven't used my dedicated ugly crying icon enough!

2. Oh boy oh boy memory share, Popp has some juicy trauma and also has had some legitimately cool things that he has done (there is overlap). I want his friends to see the shit he puts up with. I want new/newish CR to get a really intense first impression. He has watched his beloved mentor die in front of him, he's personally died himself in the exact same way, he's fought multiple dragons at once and won, he's worked retail...

3. He also only really puts his whole heart into a friendship after facing dire peril together so HERE WE GO!!

Interested In: He knows a lot of mature adults who are encouraging him to grow as a person so I especially want him to hang out with more teenagers and people who will have petty arguments with him.

Anything else? The majesty of his full dragon form is upon us yes the horn bow is required no he will not be accepting criticism about it

Dragon Bond: Vyth Vignar, the steel dragon. Vyth was a professional busy-body. In life, he served as a councilor, but his passion for people extended far outside of his job. While he did maintain a social acceptability and prided himself in his good manners, he was still in everyone's business. Often in the background, observing, waiting for someone to ask him for his opinion. Once engaged in conversation, you would be hard pressed to escape. Many of his peers would half-joke about having to bid him farewell several times before actually being allowed to leave.

About Your Blorbo: Honestly he's just a weird little guy. Former teacher, now former pope. Has time powers. Now has some memories from Amani he doesn't know what to do with. A little fucked up about that. Loves fishing, swords and soup.

Event Plan(s): Byleth will help patrol but he has Dimitri to look after now so he will take great pains in fortifying his home... only to realize he is too late. Will be attacked and likely fed from by a couple of intellect devourers that will need killing OR they will move on to feed from others, spreading his absolutely fucked up memories all over the place.

Interested In: God do I love some angst, fluff and h/c. I'm down for whatever.

Angeal Hewley-Rhapsodos | Final Fantasy VII

Character: Angeal Hewley-Rhapsodos
Canon: Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core
Canon Point: oh he's dead (but on CRAU from Amani)
Age:28
Dragon Bond: Angeal has a Gold Dragon that is literally just Gordon Ramsey. His name is Voridin, and him and Dimitri the NPC have beef with each other.

His changes seem pretty in-line with things so far: slightly branching horns, scales all over his body (primarily his arms being the most visible, but also his forehead and framing his face), carefully manicured claws, and a pretty fat short tail. Some may note with interest that he doesn't appear to have wings! This is a lie, because Angeal is cheating in a way that only a very strange human-experiment can.

There are some other changes, but most won't be able to see them considering it's winter and he is wearing season appropriate clothing.

About Your Blorbo: Angeal is the owner of Annie's Bakes, which is the bakery in Town and holds around four other employees besides himself! Which means that it's easy for people to assume CR with him just by going to get the basic necessities of, like. bread or other pastry goods ha ha. Those who only know him passingly will pick up that he's a very relaxed and sociable person, and tends to pick up on other people's moods and such well. (Friendly, but not overbearing.... sometimes. Unless he feels a reason to be otherwise.)

However, people with experience and a good eye might be able to pick up that he has pretty good control/knowledge of his body and a certain stance at times which hints at his military background. (Angeal is pretty open about being former military if asked, too, although he won't always go into depth.)

...He is also a secret human experiment that was merged with a space virus mimicry creature, and he super doesn't talk about that if he can get away with it! But he's still a bit faster and stronger and resilient than a normal human (which is saying a lot considering FF's idea of "normal human"), which some may notice... especially with this event!

Game/Event Plan(s):

1. In response to the news of their new arrivals, Angeal will likely temporarily close the bakery. With the blizzard on the horizon, it's not like anyone is going to be walking around a lot anyway... However, before that happens, he will have a brief period at the bakery where he'll be making SO MUCH FOOD for people to hoard in their homes that will hopefully help, or even assist in giving the raw ingredients so they can make things at home. If anyone wants some domestic baking advice, he's the guy to come to!

2. With that done, Angeal will be on patrol duty to keep an eye out for the Intellect Devourers (IDs). Due to being a gold dragon, the natural heat in his body will help combat the chill of winter... which may be a bonus to anyone who partners up with him as well! He's also a good mentor to have (was the best back in SOLDIER in fact), and can respond well as a partner. So if anyone wants to work towards something in their patrols, he's not a bad choice!

3. So! While Angeal is pretty quick on the draw and responsible... That's no good for RP. :v

So for memory sharing, I'm fully willing to figure out some way for him to be on one end or the other. If there's a memory you want someone to explore with your character, I'm all for it! Alternatively, there are a few memories of Angeal's that other people could see as well!

Angeal was from a pretty poor rural family on an island, but with a loving family. He then joined the military, got REALLY GOOD at it, and then learned terrible truths about himself that lead to his death! Whee! What I'm saying is that depending on what you'd like to know about him, we can run the gauntlet from "pretty ok actually" (which can be used to show maybe your character "oh my life was fucked actually" if you like lol) to "oh! you sure were in a Final Fantasy game!"

Some Options:
-the first time he got the Buster Sword from his father
-times spent in SOLDIER
-realizing terrible truths about himself

If there's a particular kind of memory you'd like to get, just let me know, and I can throw out more specific ideas!

...However. Remember when I said that Angeal is a product from human experimentation with an alien space virus...? Angeal technically isn't a "perfect" product like Sephiroth is in that regard, but he was viewed far more favorably by BOTH asshole scientists involved in Crisis Core's particular arms race, and he's still got that space virus in him! So there is a non-zero chance that when/if Angeal is targeted, the ID in question may... lose a limb or some other thing. Jenova is a pretty aggressive little nightmare, even when nerfed. They won't explode (in contrast to being with Ardyn), but some interesting actions may be taken while asleep! So if you want to find a ID missing its leg wobbling around...

About: Hi! I'm Shesha, I work in the medical field and am interested in a ton of different things. Video games, space, writing, going out to find cool rocks, etc! I got injured in December but am now recovered and raring to go. I live in Pacific time!

For all of February I won't be working, but when I return to work in mid-March I will be working 10:30am-11pm on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. I also sporadically work additional on-call shifts. I will, as always, backtag until the heat death of the universe.

Character: Elidibus
Canon: Final Fantasy XIV
Canon Point: Current canon, so post-Dawntrail, plus Amani CRAU
Age: Multiple thousands of years
Dragon Bond: Nannan Urathear, Steel dragon. Nannan found themselves bereft of a true desire for specific work in their life, tending to do odd jobs that allowed them to eke out a modest existence. They were however, possessed of a deep desire to understand the world, to live in the singular moment and reveled in the mystery of endless tomorrows. While esoteric, many found them agreeable and calming to be around with their "go with the flow" attitude. Show them an interesting leaf and they will be occupied for hours. They were also noted to have an affinity for halfling herb.

About Your Blorbo: Copied from last plotting post:

Local intense twink with a penchant for piano, sparring, and balance here to help people out and be earnest and sincere to a fault. He has endured an immense amount of tragedy in his long years, but despite the loss of everything and everyone he had ever known or loved - including the gradual loss of his very memories and identity (which were restored in the end) - he endured. So long as he had his duty, he would always endure. I could write a LOT on this man and his character with the various depths that he has - especially if you take him from different points in canon... but the core of him is love of all kinds. Emissary of the Convocation of Fourteen, his impartial judgements seldom err.

Game/Event Plan(s): Finally, a time for the fight-y boy himself to make use of all that magical and martial prowess. There will be few punches pulled here until the danger is passed, even to his own physical detriment.

- Elidibus is going to be on high alert the moment the crash happens until the danger is gone. He can be seen patrolling around town and beyond looking absolutely armed to the teeth. His sword and shield are present and his staff/lance is held on side that also bears his shield and it'll be obvious that he's used protective magic around himself. At times he'll even have his mask or glyph in place. The feathered wings give him a striking silhouette whether he's his actual size or adjusted down to mortal heights.

- There absolutely will be several times where he kills an Intellect Devourer and will get blasted by whatever memories they have eaten. If you want him to see them, let me know which ones! Killing and capturing them will both happen, depending on who is in the immediate area (he's less likely to kill them if someone else is in the blast zone).

- Want to get saved from being snacked on? He'll absolutely be doing that. I'm not going to have him personally getting munched on, but there's plenty of opportunity for memory share and aftercare of all of that.

- Will be offering help after the attacks and during the harsh weather. Restorative magicks will be provided for those who have fallen victim to the Intellect Devourers, helping with physical symptoms at the very least. Need to keep warm during the blizzard? He's there with fire-based magicks and will offer his home as a refuge for any who otherwise live by themselves (after pleading with Erich to let him, of course).

Interested In: Really here for showing Elidibus's protective nature off. He's been here for months forging these bonds and by goodness he WILL keep these people he cares for safe. Especially considering the topic is of tampering with memories and agency, which he is vehemently against. Definitely here for found family antics, whether that's angsty or not! We're also at the point where he can be a full dragon or himself. For the most part he'll look like himself, but he's keeping the wings out by choice.

Dragon Bond: Yarrow Laurel, the steel dragon, was a detective in life, known most of all for his ability to read people and their intentions. His hobby was people watching and making conversation with new folks of all walks of life. The more he learned of the people in the world, the better he would be at his job. Not to mention the company was usually lovely. His affable demeanor allowed many to trust him quickly and won him countless life-long friends. His personal motto was 'the answer to everything can be found through observation'.

About Your Blorbo: Avan is a super-genius prodigy whose family history has taught him that dang, people really don't like super-genius prodigies! So he hides his true strength behind a thick layer of silly clownery. He's just a kind-hearted nerd who wants to make people smile and feel at ease, and definitely not secretly an extremely powerful swordsman and spellcaster!!!

Game/Event Plan(s): Oh boy memshare!!! For someone who avoids sharing personal information like Avan does this is a nightmare and for me this is delicious. Memories on offer:
-Avan's parents died when he was very young and he was raised by his grandfather. I'm picturing a vignette of widdle babbu Avan coming home from bug hunting only to find strangers in house talking very seriously with his grandfather before he's ushered away. He'll hate having to elaborate on the exact nature of the bad news those people were delivering, it'd be great.
-His grandfather also died a few years ago, which can be used as a great jumping-off point for digging into Avan's generational trauma by digging into how Grandpa Zinuar didn't really have any friends and what that meant for Avan.
-I can come up with so many silly little scenes for Avan's past few years as a knight of Carl. Avan getting a bag of slimes dumped on him by his best friend, Avan getting scolded for skipping sword training to go hang out in the castle kitchens, Avan getting scolded for attending sword training but only because the princess he's in love with is also going to be training that day, general cute shit with said princess, etc, etc
-Hey wanna see Avan magically explode himself? Talk to Holly about that because Popp saw it and hasn't told Avan about it for Obvious Reasons. Avan's figured out that he's dead by Popp's canonpoint and would get Comically Huffy about it if he found out that somebody else learned the truth before Popp came clean with him about it. The nerve, tbh. BT

EDIT: I wrote out some of the memories pre-emptively because the hyperfocus hit, all 4 of these are free game for anyone who wants to catch them.

As for the combat side of things, the presented threat is serious enough that Avan might actually... sneak out of his cabin in the middle of the night to go ID-hunting by himself in secret, despite the warnings to the contrary.
Interested In: One of Avan's favorite things about being in CoB is getting to learn about the fancy technology other people have that are completely alien to his native medieval-fantasy-styled world. He eats that shit up.

Anything else? The bagful of slimes is canon.

Aisthota Fyrstaelwyn (WoL) | Final Fantasy XIV

Character: Aisthota Fyrstaelwyn (The Warrior of Light)
Canon: Final Fantasy XIV
Canon Point: Patch 6.5
Age: 21
Dragon Bond: Natir Houl, white dragon, was a boatswain by trade. Later in their life they became something of a curmudgeon. Having sailed as long as they had, very little surprised them, and their crew often turned to them for life advice. Their advice was informed but...blunt. Many might say rude, but they would say they simply have "common sense". Very must a "back in my day we walked both ways up hill in the snow" kind of person. While their delivery left much to be desired, their advice, when taken, often did produce results for the best. That said, not everyone chose to take the advice, much to their chagrin.

About Your Blorbo: Aisthota is a bright and bubbly, 7'4" tall ray of sunshine. She believes in the good in people unconditionally and is always happy to help with any task, big or small. Especially if she gets paid for it. She's primarily a Dancer after the events of Endwalker but she's skilled in a few other combat fields. Smarter than her dippy personality makes her seem at first blush but in a deeply eccentric way.

Game/Event Plan(s): I don't have as specific ideas for memshares for Aisthota as I do for Avan. There's certainly plenty of options, between all of FFXIV's plot events and Aisthota's personal history involving her family and such, but it's a lot easier to get her to talk about this stuff on her own than Avan. If somebody's interested on seeing her specific perspective on events or you're looking for a scene with a specific tone, I'm down, but nothing specific jumps out to me as a must-do.

For combat, she's definitely participating in patrols and culling. If you need somebody to bail you out or to partner up with, she's great at both of those!
Interested In: Aisthota's brand-new, so I'm basically down for anything with her! She's very easy to get along with.

Anything else? Aisthota's consigned to pre-Dawntrail because otherwise she will miss Wuk Lamat too much.

Cherry | Emet-Selch (Final Fantasy XIV)

About: Cat mom and newbie rock tumbler. I like art, washi tape, shoujo manga, video games, broadway musicals and panang curry. I also work full time in graphic design/customer service/sales (yes...all three at once...somehow), so my tagging can be all over the place. Dragon Bond: Ossalur Isk
Ossalur could only be described as a classic adventurer through and through. Bouncing from one fiasco to the next. He always left a strong impression in his wake and was a dragon known for having connections. His first and foremost priority was helping people. No task too big, no job too banal, Ossalur would do it all without hesitation if it brought light to those who needed it. In times when he found himself in need of help, he had countless many to call upon for various skills and information who were all too happy to return the favor. That said, he was known to be a bit... odd. Not in a bad way, but more in a kind of chaotic 'cooking with explosives' kind of way.

About Your Blorbo: Emet-Selch is one of fourteen representatives of his world's governing body, his duties being those that involve the Underworld (ie. aetherial sea or afterlife) and his ability to see souls. He's a powerful mage and an absolute magnet for gremlin energy. At first meeting, he can be quite prickly and grumpy, but one will soon learn that he's a rather sentimental sort who will cave to the whims of others if he feels the issue warrants his attention (and if others ask nicely enough). He's passionate about theatre, magicks, good literature and long naps in the park.

Game/Event Plan(s): Though some have chosen to focus on protecting everyone and killing IDs on sight, Emet-Selch will take a more subdued and practical approach - focused instead on assisting otherworlders and residents of Town alike in weathering the poorly-timed blizzard (having some prior experience when it comes to such matters, naturally). If you don't have a fire-breather readily available, Emet-Selch will light your hearth or heat up your bath water. He's also available as an escort and will prove mostly amenable to joining others on their patrols - he does like to keep an eye on things, after all, and certain people need to be watched lest they snuff themselves out by overdoing things. For those who do need additional manpower, he is a skilled sorcerer (black mage) capable of tanking (dark knight) in a pinch. Thanks to his time in Hast, he has come into possession of some reasonably acceptable gear in service of the latter.

Ultimately Emet-Selch will fall victim to the IDs' memory munching, likely within his own (now rather lonely) home whilst he's attempting to get a few hours of shut-eye inbetween chores. He has thousands of years of memories to draw upon and an outrageous attention to detail - not only related to the history of his own people, but of generations upon generations of civilizations on Etheirys. I'm quite keen to let Shadowbringers flavor Emet-Selch back out of his cardboard box, but really anything is on the table here depending on if you'd rather see him in a better or worse light. There's still an unrepentant villain living within him, make no mistake.

Emet-Selch's dragon transformation is complete as of February, though it should be noted he will not be able to fly with any success for the duration of the blizzard (think: flying a kite during a windstorm). He will favor it outdoors when the weather is particularly foul, because there is nothing worse than shivering out of one's own skin. Indoors he will revert to his Ancient appearance, just with slightly longer white hair and golden claws.

Personality-wise, you may expect him to swing back and forth between subdued, emotionally volatile, and intentionally dramatic this month (he's coping just fine, really he is!)

He will also be gaining additional insight into the Amani Simulation.

**ADDENDUM: OH RIGHT! I forgot to mention that (once things calm down a bit, haha) Emet-Selch will be looking into combining bond points and pulling in the Akadaemia Anyder from home (it's a university building with different sections that can be reconfigured for various uses including teaching, research, etc... there's even a pool). I envision this as a group effort with the Ancients taking suggestions/applications for proposed uses of the unclaimed sections, and am open to further plotting/discussion about it.

Interested In: I love how people are adopting this grumpy old grandpa, but I am also not opposed to Emet-Selch causing trouble or mucking up his reputation thanks to events of his past.

Oh god it's Soren from her games I mean hello! I do love me an Emet-Selch. Maybe they can patrol together? Nephenee's used to prickly mages (see the aforementioned Soren). She's basically a fairly reticent girl who's a mixture of dragoon and paladin in fighting style (can jump good and uses lances, but is also an off-tank.).

Also, will the Akadaemia Anyder have its jazz music? This is important.
