Since quests all tend to require party members (a minimum of two), it can be difficult to get them going if you aren't sure who's interested. This plotting post helps to alleviate that, by listing the current available quests. Remember to take a look at the Quest Board to see how it all works, and go to the FAQ if you have any question for the mods! If there's a quest you're interested in but you're lacking at least one more person.
Sub-threads are posted below for Open Quests, and then the separate Exclusive Quests. Make sure to check the latter's status on the Quest Board to see if it's still open!
Quest: Chicken Catastrophe Rank: ✩ Party Size: 2-3 People Roll to Clear: 8 Possible Encounter(s): Larger Than Average Rooster (That Is Very Mean) Reward: 3 Reputation, Chicken Feather Quill and Ink, 1 Dozen Fresh Chicken Eggs Summary:
Someone's accidental spell sent a local farmer's chickens into a tizzy. They're scattered all over Town and he can't take the time away from his other responsibilities to get them himself. Just be careful! These chickens are more powerful than they look and there WILL be consequences for if you attack them instead.
For the sake of my tagload, not taking any more quests for the current week (until 20th Oct) until my existing quest commitments (Ko, tentatively Nephenee and Ardyn) make some progress.
However if you'd still like a thread, please let me know and I'll try to start one with you when I can!
Ok so I'm also doing this quest with other people so I gotta clarify with the mods on resubmitting, but Absinthe "ask questions first but eldritch blast later" would also shoot the chickens if they looked at her funny. It would be funny if our characters were chased through the streets of Town by a horse sized chicken, an incomparible bonding experience
Quest: Gossiping Grandmas Rank: ✩ Party Size: 3-4 Roll to Clear: 10 Possible Encounter(s): Bandits (mixed race) Reward: 2 Reputation, Fresh Baked Goods Summary:
Offworlders have been enlisted in helping protect elderly citizens of Town to promote trust. Your task this time: Escorting a group of ladies heading to a bake sale. While not the most exciting chore, one may find that these grandmas have juicy gossip to share along with their treats.
This would be hilarious to throw Bucky at, given his current... social deficiencies... so if anyone'd like to plan to babysit a bunch of old ladies and fight bandits, hit me up?
Avan is going to be so good at charming grandmas, but his contribution to bandit-fighting is mostly going to be suggesting that the bandits are probably attacking because they're hungry, so they should try giving them food instead of fighting them.
Quest: Well, Actually Rank: ✩ Party Size: 2-3 Roll to Clear: 12 Possible Encounter(s): Possible Zombies/Skeletons Reward: 3 Reputation, Cache of 20 Gold Coins Summary:
Due to increased population and need, a new well needs to be dug in Town. Seeing as how offworlders are a little responsible, they've been asked to help assist in the unexpected infastructure improvements.
Quest: Goblin Dinner Rank: ✩✩ Party Size: 2-3 Roll to Clear: 12 Possible Encounter(s): Goblins Reward: 3 Reputation Summary:
Goblins have been raiding a village food store to treat themselves to dinner. Find the nest to exterminate the pesky creatures or simply scare them off for good.
This is absolutely a thing the former Asset would sign on to do. Anybody wanna help him out? He won't ask, he'd just go head out to handle it himself, so it'll have to be a "run into each other" kind of thing, or someone else asking him.
Quest: It's Probably Bandits Rank: ✩✩ Party Size: 3-4 Roll to Clear: 14 Possible Encounter(s): Bandits (mixed race), Bandit Leader Reward: 5 Reputation Summary:
With increased shipments to Town to help facilitate the influx of offworlders, bandits have taken the opportunity to pillage more than usual. Although local authorities are doing all they can, they wouldn't mind a few helping hands stopping these criminals.
Quests that can only be taken by one party, and which you can compete for. Remember to check the Quest Board proper to see availability and competition!
Quest: What a Shitty Curse Rank: ✩ Party Size: 2-3 Roll to Clear: 8 Possible Encounter(s): Poop Reward: 2 Reputation, Dysentery Sword Summary:
Farmers have been complaining about withering crops and lower yields than usual this season. As it turns out, there is a hidden cursed object among the field that can be found upon investigating. Unfortunately, for offworlders, holding the cursed object with their bare hands will have severe gastrointestinal consequences.
Quest: Haunted Barn Rank: ✩✩ Party Size: 3-4 Roll to Clear: 14 Possible Encounter(s): Owls Reward: 3 Reputation, Pet Barn Owl Summary:
Natives of Town are complaining of banshees in the night in one of the local barns. Frightened and sleep deprived, they're asking for assistance from offworlders to rid them of these demons. The demons in question? A nest of especially vocal and energetic barn owls who like to think their singing is lovely.
Quest: Rats out of the Bag Rank: ✩✩ Party Size: 3-4 Roll to Clear: 15 Possible Encounter(s): Rodents of Unusual Size, Swarm of Rats, Rat King (5 ft, demon, insaciable thirst for mead) Reward: 3 Reputation, Hat of Vermin Summary:
A local tavern owner at a travel outpost has been having major problems with rats in the basement. He is now scared to enter the basement but that's where all his stock is. Upon entering, the stairs seem much longer than they ought to. You realize the door has vanished behind you and you have to fight the Rat King and his swarm to be released once more.
