Hello and welcome to Children of Bahamut!

This OOC post will be for all your introductory plotting needs! While there will be plotting posts for events once they officially start in November and on, we wanted to give everyone a space to outline their initial thoughts and plans to get started strong.

You can use the form below! If you play more than one character, you're free to make a top-level for just your relevant player information and comment beneath with each respective character.

As a few quick notes:

⁂ The Town Town Hall Meeting is up and serves as a game opening mingle! Our first real, proper event will be November 1st.
⁂ While a month might seem like a long time, we want to encourage people to use the the quest board to get themselves established in the community and building reputation if they want something to do!
⁂ Character claims are always open until we hit the player cap! So, please keep checking back on this post for new players or characters that might be added to ensure everyone receives a warm welcome!

Most of all, we want people to have fun and let us know if your character gets up to anything good, bad, or whatever! All of it will influence the world around them and potentially have benefits or consequences.

Character: Mithrun of the House of Kerensil
Canon: Dungeon Meshi/Delicious in Dungeon
Canon Point: Post-canon, plus Amani CRAU
Age: 187 (equivalent to late 30s)

Dragon Bond:
Name: Molik Umbraxakar
Type: White
Personal Information: Molik was not always someone to be feared, but as he rode through life continually unchallenged, he grew his ego and sense of resentment towards the children of men, beastmen and anyone who was not a full blooded dragon. Earning his place in the draconic guard for his skills in combat did not help things. His true self did not show until there was mass-unrest between man and dragon, furthering his already existing bias. He made it as far as he did by hiding it well, but there was always a simmering hatred underneath, that occasionally manifested in using his position in the guard to viciously bully those he saw as lesser while maintaining plausible deniability.

About Your Blorbo: Mithrun is an elven noble, a former paramilitary officer, and, at a glance, kind of a mess. Without getting too far into spoiler territory, he went through the fucking wringer a few decades ago as a regular operative of said paramilitary organization, and now suffers a plethora of supernaturally-induced mental health problems. The most prominent of these is a distinct disconnect from any sense of desire, outside extremely specific circumstances; he feels no drive toward or satisfaction from most things, no natural inclination to rectify feelings like hunger or thirst (and, quite often, can't recognize those feelings to begin with), and is overall just. So extremely depressed.

To most casual onlookers who don't make the specifics of his situation their business, Mithrun mostly comes across as kind of spacey and rude. While very competent in certain areas of specialty (particularly tactics, unarmed combat, and magic - the man does some wild shit with teleportation spells), he struggles with basic, day to day tasks, has no social filter, and routinely seems to kind of stall out (doing the mental legwork to motivate himself to Complete Tasks by connecting them to his small handful of desires can be a slow and exhausting process). His horrendous sense of direction and the frequency with which he'll just kind of go along with Whatever that other people push on him don't help, either.

Conversely, if something lands on one of his handful of remaining (or new) desires, he gets. Intense. And can also be so fucking smug when he feels like he's won at something. Anything he feels something from he's gonna be grabbing onto with both hands, alright.

Having come from a previous game, Mithrun has made some progress on piecing together new desires for himself (he is VERY into certain baking and cooking tasks), and also has ended up in Angeal Hewley's polycule. He is still not sure how that one happened but it's nice????

Game Plan(s): This is not his first jamjar rodeo, so he'll adapt to that part pretty quickly. He will, however, be pretty unhappy about the dragon situation!

For spoiler reasons, Mithrun will pretty much view the dragons as potentially-dangerous parasites until further notice. Things will only get worse when the ancient magical entity affixed to his soul starts talking to him and trying to influence his behavior (and it will not help that Molik's entitled attitude and supremacist beliefs will remind him of his younger self. He hates that guy)!

So, plenty of opportunity for things to get messy there. Fortunately for everyone, though, he has some CR from his previous game here to keep him from flying too far off the handle - and, in more mundane news, when Angeal inevitably opens another bakery, Mithrun will for sure be working there.

Interested In: RUBS MY HANDS TOGETHER. The short answer is, everything? Everything. Befriend the spacey little elf, have beef with him because he's rude and pushy, etc. I do REALLY enjoy CR that starts off negative and then takes a turn to positive (or even just Complicated).

Anything else? First Impressions/permissions are HERE - some of these are slightly out of date after Amani, but the important thing is the content warnings at the bottom. The details of Mithrun's whole Deal as a character are pretty spoiler-heavy, and also involve some rough topics. Also Dungeon Meshi elf society is VERY fantasy racist, and while Mithrun no longer really believes what he was taught about other races growing up, he's not always the most sensitive about the topic.
