Hello and welcome to Children of Bahamut!

This OOC post will be for all your introductory and/or plotting needs! For newcomers, we want to give a space to outline their initial thoughts and plans to get started strong. For established players, feel free to make your event and other plans for the month of November here!

You can use the form below! If you play more than one character, you're free to make a top-level for just your relevant player information and comment beneath with each respective character.

As a few quick notes:

⁂ The Fae Festivities event log is up in its entirety! Use this post to plot for it, but feel free to top-level or tag into the actual event at your leisure.
⁂ We want to encourage people to continue to use the quest board to get themselves established in the community and building reputation if they want something to do!
⁂ Character claims are always open until we hit the player cap! So, please keep checking back on this post for new players or characters that might be added to ensure everyone receives a warm welcome!

Most of all, we want people to have fun and let us know if your character gets up to anything good, bad, or whatever! All of it will influence the world around them and potentially have benefits or consequences.

About: Talking animal enjoyer, artist, audio drama listener, MMO dabbler, occasional digital artist! Tagging speed varies, but I should be checking in more starting this month now that I'm not settling into two new RPs at the same time (oops!). Specific tagging speed TBD but I check and try to hit a few replies each week, FIFO unless asked - if you want to plan a boomerang session though please ask! I'm on EST, most active around 8p-12a.

Character: Gethen Daybreak
Canon: Guild Wars 2
Canon Point: Janthir Wilds, end of Act 2
Age: 30
Dragon Bond: Othokent Noachi -- blue dragon, scholar of electrical engineering, scion of storm-chasers, professional infodumper. Their mere presence will be tempering Geth's murderous adventurous streak.

About Your Blorbo: Gethen's a vengeful assassin-turned-MMO deuteragonist, sharing the role usually reserved for GW2's singular player character with the man he once vowed to kill. These days he's a tracker, hunter, and brawler, called the "Wayfinder" by his newer wizardly colleagues. As might be expected, he's a quiet, pragmatic type, used to running diplomacy despite his distaste for it.

He's also a ranger/druid - he loves animals of all kinds and is fairly cautious when it comes to disturbing the balance of nature, not out of any sense of morality, but out of an awareness that he never knows who or what may be watching. He tries his best to be agreeable, but Gethen's a little stiff and awkward with other people. Works hard to keep his vicious temper in check and is pretty good at it.

He is also currently seemingly unbothered by his dragon changes. He's noticed them, but is either repressing very hard or simply unsurprised by them. ( Spoiler alert: it's the latter)

Game/Event Plan(s):

• Fashion Wars 2! Gethen has crafting to do, and that means he'll gladly accept some free gear for the salvage train, even if what he gets comes complete with a bright purple top-hat. It's ridiculous, but the Wayfinder is stoically dedicated to the bit. The prop potions might be harmless, or they might do something, you'll have to convince him if you want to sample one.


• A little birdie told me... A raven seems to have found its way into the festivities on Gethen's ticket - what's a ranger, after all, without a pet? Some mischievous fae have freed miss Sapphire from her makeshift hood, and in her own merrymaking, she's acquired a temporary gift of gab. She'll be borrowing voices amidst her hijinks and perhaps snatching a few prizes as her costumed handler chases her around the festival grounds. ( She will be re-hooded and back to normal by the end of the festival, rest assured! )


• Wayfinder, go fetch! If you've lost anything - or anyone - Gethen can help you search around. He'll be making regular forays into the woods, all the way to the deepest layers. Just play along when he introduces himself as Bangar, alright?


• If you want to wildcard for an AU encounter, let me know OOC! I don't have much in the way of CRAU for him, but I'm open to crossovers as well as his average joe RP alt. And if you're hungry for some pvp this event, I could also dip into his forgotten Destroyer Champion self, an animalistic avatar of fire who will gladly immolate anything in front of him.

Interested In: Pretty much anything at this point, but more specifically I'd love to find Geth a roomie (or roomies) and some fellow crafters! This is also a good chance to set up some negative CR if that's your thing - maybe Sapphire stole something, maybe Gethen broke something, maybe he AU'd and mauled someone, all sorts of things could happen here.

Anything else? Gethen's catch-all is coming up; among other things, he'll be putting out a call for a caster round-up for some helping hands following a bit of one-on one with Charlie. More on that when it's ready, but feel free to reach out in the meantime!

lol miss Sapphire sounds fun! I'm canonblind but Getten sounds intriguing. Sheliak is going to go into the woods to help find people but he has a terrible sense of direction and will get hopelessly lost instead.

I'm also planning to have Sheliak get a cursed item from trading with the fae if miss Sapphire wants to steal it?

HELLO super late reply on account of IRL chaos but uh. I am SO here for Sapphire stealing that cursed item if you'd still like to thread up! Gethen wouldn't be far behind.

I'm also kind of reveling in most people being available specifically to track others down, Gethen's got a TL prompt up for anyone who might just be waiting around for a task to come up if you're feeling something less action-oriented.
