Since quests all tend to require party members (a minimum of two), it can be difficult to get them going if you aren't sure who's interested. This plotting post helps to alleviate that, by listing the current available quests. Remember to take a look at the Quest Board to see how it all works, and go to the FAQ if you have any question for the mods! If there's a quest you're interested in but you're lacking at least one more person.

Sub-threads are posted below for Open Quests, and then the separate Exclusive Quests. Make sure to check the latter's status on the Quest Board to see if it's still open!

Summary:

Farmers have been complaining about withering crops and lower yields than usual this season. As it turns out, there is a hidden cursed object among the field that can be found upon investigating. Unfortunately, for offworlders, holding the cursed object with their bare hands will have severe gastrointestinal consequences.

I did a dice roll and Emet-Selch's Sight will be helpful in pinpointing the general location of the cursed object (or at least the part of the field where the energies are most screwy). The fun then becomes figuring out what it is and what to do with it...

Summary:

Natives of Town are complaining of banshees in the night in one of the local barns. Frightened and sleep deprived, they're asking for assistance from offworlders to rid them of these demons. The demons in question? A nest of especially vocal and energetic barn owls who like to think their singing is lovely.

I saw they'd applied for it, but I remembered the Quest Board post saying something about multiple people applying for the same Exclusive Quest:

"For exclusive quests, anyone can make a submission to take them on but if multiple players wish to take the same one, OOCly the moderators will RNG who receives it and - after the first round - give preference going forward to those who have not received an exclusive quest yet"

So I thought it might still go on here!

James is correct! We did put in for it, but that doesn't guarantee it on exclusive quests so it's totally free game for people to also try and take that quest.

It's also ICly explained per the page as characters are interviewed by a quest master and the ones who RNG win it are the ones who get selected by said quest master!

A local tavern owner at a travel outpost has been having major problems with rats in the basement. He is now scared to enter the basement but that's where all his stock is. Upon entering, the stairs seem much longer than they ought to. You realize the door has vanished behind you and you have to fight the Rat King and his swarm to be released once more.

FYI that I believe the mods mentioned on plurk that they'd like each character to submit for only one quest a week, and I've committed to multiple quest threads myself, so I'll post here if I end up using my weekly submission for something else? I think this week should be good, though.

Update on our rat quest

Heya! I realised quest response day (Sunday) is tomorrow so I can try to put in a request for us today or tomorrow. There's a dice roll portion of the form, let me know what A2 rolls?

(Absinthe rolled a 12, sadly, so not enough to clear the quest difficulty on her own.)

Sorry for the late response! We got our quest results here- the party succeeded and got a magic item as a reward!

We need to submit either a thread or a writeup to complete this though. I know it's been kind of a long time since we plotted this and there's a new event ongoing, so are you still interested in trying to thread this out? I still think it might be fun, though I might be slow trying to juggle the event and this, so I'm open to either option.

I'll ping Nephenee's player too for their opinion. From what I understand they were busy with RL matters last month, I'm not sure of their bandwidth at the moment.
