⁂ PLOT WITH ME Character: Cloud Strife Canon: Final Fantasy VII (Remake continuity) Canon Point: Just after the Gold Saucer Age: 21 Dragon Bond: Name: Ioth Haurach
Type: Bronze
Personal Information: Ioth ran an orphanage for parentless wyrmlings, men, beastmen and all sorts. Ioth wasn't exactly a warm person, but he was effective in his job. A strict caretaker and teacher, he was not without kindness... it just came in the form of gentle but firm wisdom dispensed at all times. All of the children under his care were well looked-after and received as much attention as he and his assistants could spare. This left him often tired, burned out, and a bit irritable. Still, he never turned his ire on his charges. The adults around him however... were another story.
About Your Blorbo: ITS HIM IT IS MISTER FINAL FANTASY! I love 7, and am really loving the remake and decided to roll with the new timeline to spice things up. Since Remake is incomplete, I am supplementing a few parts with HCs and OG content, and might look to help him find a way to pick up OG timeline memories too if possible in the far future...
But here's what you gotta know without me going way too deep into lore. I can always supplement the canon blind and gush. Cloud is a genetically enhanced supersoldier turned merc-for-hire who somehow ended up entangled in an eco-terrorist group. That sorta snowballed into a journey of saving the world from a mega-corporation and an alien parasite virus hivemind thing along with a ragtag group that he gathers along the way.
He seems like your average SOLDIER, but Cloud was in fact experimented on with high concentrations of Mako (an energy source from the planet itself) and injected with a certain set of alien virus cells that happen to belong to his former hero turned arch-nemesis. He went through some rather intense trauma immediately off the end of the experimentation, and while in a state of acute mako poisoning, his dearest friend (and, lbr, lover lol) died to save his life. The result: Cloud Strife took on his memories, mixed with some of his own, and his brain is a complete freakin' mess. There is no true sense of self on this man. It has only just started to come out in the game! There is SO much more to this but it is way too much to drop on here wheee, love Final Fantasy and the crazy lore!
Personality wise, Cloud seems aloof and brusque at first, cool and calm and ready to brush people off with a "not interested." I say seems because that is his outer layer, and his truer self, which is obscured behind the trauma and identity/brain-scramble, is actually a softie and...A real dork. There are fleeting signs of it, if you know where to look, and I hope to have him come out of his shell and self-actualize properly in this game like he does in 7.
Game Plan(s): At first, he really just wants to leave. He had a Planet to save whether he wanted to or not, and a misson to complete. Once Cloud finally concedes he isn't getting out of here, he will likely be trying to take up odd jobs and merc work. Anything to keep him busy. A large arc I want to approach here for Cloud given the *when* I am taking him from is for him to find healing over time regarding his scrambled memories from being experimented on and from past trauma, and finding his own identity and sense of self therein. in OG he finds it but we aren't there yet in remake which opens up an opportunity to play around with it! I think his dragon and the world around him will be a massive help in untangling the threads and mess in his head.
Interested In: Friends, enemies, rivals and frenemies, ANYONE is welcome. Cliche but really am looking for anything with both my sad blond lab rats. Sparring partners, people to help him grow and come out of his shell, or even help him unravel the tangled mess that is his mind and his memories.
